The very compact dust disk in the Red Rectangle

Aims. We aim to study the dust distribution in central regions of Keplerian disk Red Rectangle, prototype binary post-AGB stars with rotating circumbinary disks, and compare it relevant molecular gas tracers. Methods. present new high-resolution (20 milliarcseconds, mas) ALMA observations continuum line emissions at 0.9 mm. The maps have been analyzed by means a simple model free–free emission that is able reproduce data. Results. (i) find most Rectangle concentrated inner regions, typical size 250 AU diameter 50 width. (ii) settlement grains onto equatorial remarkable when compared relatively widespread distribution. (iii) This region basically coincident warm PDR (photo-dominated region) where CI, CII, certain molecules such as HCN are presumably formed, well probably PAHs (polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons, whose very strong this source). (iv) confirm large grains, radius ∼150 μm. opacity mm deduced be large, ∼0.5. (v) also existence compact HII center, for which we measure an extent 10–15 mas (∼10 AU) total flux 7–8 mJy
